Hangor: S.131 Reveiw
Though I am grown up watching, celebrating and believing one side of story. I was excited for the drama with hope to get glimpses of other side of the story since the day it's teaser randomly apeared on my YouTube recommendation list . 1 minute and 33 second short trailer hyped me for the the whole drama. It was full of dialogue like; Inshallah, we will definitely surprise them; Pakistan want peace but Our enemy should not dare to consider this as our weakness. I had expected it to characterize india and india naval force at least similar to how bollywood movie characterize pakistani in it's movie as terrorist, a country that support terrorism. But it fails with that expectations as there hardly screen presence of Indian naval forces or even not single strong character for enemy side. It seems affected by URI: The surgical strike and rather than sticking to fact, it tends to delivery the message they once entered into indian sea, destroyed the Indian Naval ship and safely return to Pakistan. This drama completely ignores the requirement of strong villian that too in today time where movie lovers enjoy the negative characters.
With dialogue like Pakistan want peace but our enemy should not dare to consider this as our weakness, I expected the drama to convey positive image of Pakistan but it doesn't help rather it does opposite. In process of conveying victory, it totally ignore on the explanation part why Hangor entered in the Indian area with no reason and destroy the ship. At a point I couldn't stop laughing as when crew member suggests captain to launch missile because they were at best position and couldn't get better opportunity, captain denies saying that they can't take first step as it against their ethics but the next minute the launch the missile without any reason.
Towards the last, when they were on way return to Pakistan, one crew member suggest captain to move the ship in opposite directions i.e. towards indian part as Indian navay would search them in direction of Pakistan's area and this way they sholud be able to save themselves and caption gives order for same. In next scene, they are safely return to Pakistan without explaining how if they are moving to opposite direction, or either how many days do they move in oppoy direction and change to course.
Irritated for hyper-nationalism of bollywood movie, I expected it to be different but it even fails to convey the message of nationalism.
